Easter was really nice. I was at my grandparents again together with my sister and her boyfriend. We did a lot of cooking and backing and of course painting eggs and stuff you do for easter. I was backing some stuff with rum raisins so I took from my grandfathers rum. And it came in this interesting bottle.

I'm totally fascinated by the japanese lamp my grandfather made. It's quite old by now and he told me that he made some more for friends but all of them got destroyed by wind and rain over time but his still is perfect. In my future garden I want to have something like that as well...

My grandfather has a workshop in the basement where he fixes a lot of stuff. For example he made a really nice bed for my sister and a chair that looks like and owl (he loves owls). The next picture is the back of the chair where he made two floors for some of his smaller owls to stand on (that thing in the middle is supposed to be a ladder). I love this kind of small details you don't actually see normally.

Easter is quite a tradition in our family. Only my grandparents are kind of religious (at least that what I think) but it's always a good reason to get the family together and eat a lot of delicious stuff. All the decoration we use is super old and always the same.

Here you can see a part of our breakfast table with some of the dishes we always have for easter. That tower is mainly made of quark (that's some german thing and I read that it's translated this way but not well know, so if you don't know it it's some kind of low fat soft cheese) and nuts and honey. Not baked or anything just poured into the form two days earlier. It's russian or eastern european and super delicious.
