a green start

Last week I handed in my bachelor thesis. I'll get it back with comments soon, but for the time being I'm free. I haven't been very creative the last few weeks except for the occasional piano practice but now I started again. My first project is a miniskirt I found here. I love the looks and the colour. Mine will be green though:

Folding it like that was so easy, I did it three or four times. I hope the result will be wearable :)
Last thursday I started with my sewing class, I haven't done anything worth presenting yet but I intend to sew a sweater with some really nice fabric I found at a fabric market last weekend.

some more corners

I think I'll have to go back home soon. These last days were really productive and I love being at my grandparents and they are so happy every time somebody visits, but I'll need a different computer and software to finish the last bits of my thesis. Plus my camera runs out of battery and I forgot the charger.

The lamp in the kitchen came down yesterday. The hook they were using was just made of plastic and it was really old and broke when my grandpa touched the lamp. I fixed the hook today but I had to take a picture before because normally you can't see the sweet fabric so close.

I love this cat

Still at my grandparents. Today I was fighting to get through the last of my papers I had to read. And well, I'm done. At least with the important ones. So tomorrow I'll have to start writing on my own stuff -.-
But otherwise the day was really nice and sunny and I took this picture of the cat my grandparents have in their backyard. I love it :)
When I was little I played in that house

My grandparents house

I get better at reading and summarising papers today. It's a bit dull, but well I have to write some kind of state of the art in my thesis. So in between I'm taking more picture of this wonderful house. Here are some nice things I found in the bathroom:
I love these really old details that have been there since ever

I think I have to grow a bit older to use them, but the just look good :)
Here is the corridor with a lot of pictures of all the grandchildren. Not everyone in a big frame, but all nine should be there somewhere.
My grandma has a lot of flowers everywhere. So cozy
When I sit on the bed, reading some more papers, I just need to look up to see this.

Calm days

I'm at my grandparents place at the moment. It's a lot calmer and I don't have to think about much and can concentrate on writing... at least that's what I thought until I got an email from my supervisor. I was so angry that I had to play some piano, sleep a bit and take some pictures before I was able to answer. But well, that's the beauty of emails, you can calm down before answering :)

This is in the backyard. I'll have to take a lot more pictures, because there are so many different things in this house, I just love it. There will always be some corner with something I haven't seen yet. Even though I have been here a lot of times.

A portrait

My dear man was traveling back to Sweden today, which is kinda sad. Next time will be in april, hopefully. I wasn't doing much today, mostly sitting on the balcony in the sun (it's so warm and nice at the moment). So for my daily creative project I was drawing this portrait. Next time I try this I'll find my pencil sharpener but for today this sketch is enough.

My grandmas old fabric

My grandma used to sew a lot (she also painted and did a lot of different DIY stuff) but her eyesight isn't so good anymore. She can hardly see what she is doing while knitting. So we got to take over all her fabric bits and scraps and while going through some of them with my mom I found a really sweet blue piece that I turned into a skirt yesterday.
It was just enough for the skirt length, but for the waistband I used some elastic tube fabric
Today I thought it would be nice to have some pockets and I found this layout here and it's so cute I had to do it. The leftover scraps where just enough to make these :)
I had to sew four of them to get two okay-looking ones
And because the weather is so nice and warm we went for a walk in the forest nearby where I forced my boyfriend to take some pictures ;)
This was one of my favourite playgrounds as a child

My new big scarf

The last few days were a bit chaotic, but at least I managed to get some of the coding fixed. Because of the carneval the last few days the shops were closed, but yesterday I was able to buy some fabric for my latest projects. The first one, I made yesterday, is a big (BIG) scarf. It is essentially just a big triangle. For this one I was torturing the sewing machine with really thick fabric. But I loooove it. It's really warm.
The fabric is actually two-sided so this is just one piece

there are so many different ways to wear it, but I really like this

As the scarf is a bit too thick to knot I fixed these eyelets it the corners so I can use a snap hook.
