a little house
The weather during easter was just perfect. Sunny all the time and not too hot or cold so I sat in backyard and painted the view. This is how the table looked like :) I'll try to catch a better picture of the painting only in the next days when the weather gets better.

Easter
Easter was really nice. I was at my grandparents again together with my sister and her boyfriend. We did a lot of cooking and backing and of course painting eggs and stuff you do for easter. I was backing some stuff with rum raisins so I took from my grandfathers rum. And it came in this interesting bottle.
I'm totally fascinated by the japanese lamp my grandfather made. It's quite old by now and he told me that he made some more for friends but all of them got destroyed by wind and rain over time but his still is perfect. In my future garden I want to have something like that as well...
My grandfather has a workshop in the basement where he fixes a lot of stuff. For example he made a really nice bed for my sister and a chair that looks like and owl (he loves owls). The next picture is the back of the chair where he made two floors for some of his smaller owls to stand on (that thing in the middle is supposed to be a ladder). I love this kind of small details you don't actually see normally.
Easter is quite a tradition in our family. Only my grandparents are kind of religious (at least that what I think) but it's always a good reason to get the family together and eat a lot of delicious stuff. All the decoration we use is super old and always the same.
Here you can see a part of our breakfast table with some of the dishes we always have for easter. That tower is mainly made of quark (that's some german thing and I read that it's translated this way but not well know, so if you don't know it it's some kind of low fat soft cheese) and nuts and honey. Not baked or anything just poured into the form two days earlier. It's russian or eastern european and super delicious.

two fabric sweater
I haven't been posting in a while, but I have been creative. It took me some weeks to complete this project, because I was doing this at my sewing class. Which means I was only working on it on thursdays right before and in class. But now it's finished and it is already my new favourite pullover.
| I made the pattern from another sweater I have and changed it a bit |
| These pockets are really easy and you can see the other colour shining through |
I bought this fabric at the market some weeks ago and when I saw the pinkish red one, I just had to buy it directly. The grey one with the flowers was a bit more difficult. I think I was going to the market stand three or four times, waiting in line to buy it but then deciding that it would be too childish. I bought it in the end and I love it. Not too childish but not too serious either. I think it fits this kind of sweater really well.

urban sketchers
My aunt showed me this wonderful book called city sketchers and it remembered me of the days back in school. I loved the art classes where we found a place somewhere at school to draw pieces of the buildings and structure around us. I wanted to try this again and sat at the window at my university and drew this school right across the street.
I bought some new pens, a fineliner and a brush pen which I used on the trees. I have to get used to them still. At least the brush is something I have never really tried before.
