Wall-E

I looooove Wall-E. So while waiting for my other half to arrive in Germany I was drawing this:
<3
But now I don't know if I want to colourise it. Maybe I'll destroy it :/  So I'll leave it like that for the moment.

A quiet day

I didn't really do much today. I'm at my parents place because I'll meet up with some friends from school and because it is Karneval at the moment here in Cologne. So all I did was playing some piano (so much for my creative stuff) and studying some Japanese. Enjoy this picture from last week :)

The tree house neighbourhood

So here is the neighbourhood I always dreamt of as a child :) I remember that we had some children's book where there was something like that and I spent hours dreaming about living there.

Otherwise this day was not a good day for me. I got some more problems with my thesis so I spent most of the day doing nothing, watching japanese movies, and trying to catch up some words and phrases. So I'll have to make up for it by being extra creative tomorrow instead.

Some big letter

Today I finished my drawing from yesterday and I also coloured it, but it's already too dark to take a picture. I'll leave that for tomorrow. Instead here is a drawing I did a few days ago. In case you don't see it, it's a M :D
obviously 'M'
Still in a bad mood, the programming is really not my thing and I don't know where to get help. I will meet up with my supervisor tomorrow and I hope that he'll be able to give me some advice.
I was playing some piano again and it actually feels like I'm getting better (after some weeks of stagnation). So I though I might go to a local bookstore where they have a piano and try to play in public. My theory is that the stress of playing in front of others would bring out my weaknesses pretty well so that I know which parts I have to practice on a bit more. But I think that'll have to wait a few more days :)

My new project

When I was reading my new favourite magazine 'flow' the other day I found a really interesting idea for a new project. But before I tell you about that, here is the blueberry painting from yesterday:
Blueberries
So my new project is to write a travel guide for a fictitious country or city. I wrote an entry about a neighbourhood of tree houses and I started drawing a view on a restaurant there. It is not done yet and it'll probably take more than one day to finish it but I'll put it up here soon.

I'm feeling a bit frustrated today because my bachelor thesis isn't going so well, so I had to get in a better mood by drawing stuff :)

some poppy

As the picture of blueberries I painted today isn't dry yet, I just post some poppy I painted a few days ago. I bought a new journal especially for these colours, because my old one which I use for about everything is made with normal "thin" paper where the watercolours would soak through several pages. So this is the first page of my new journal.

I have been playing piano for a bit today. At the moment I play 'Kinderszenen' by Schumann and a piece by Rachmaninoff which feels kinda too difficult at the moment, but I really want to play it someday. Hopefully I will record some of the Schumann pieces soon.

something creative every day

It was last summer. I was in the middle of my internship in Stockholm when I felt that I wasn't doing anything for myself anymore. When I came home from work I was exhausted so I would lie on the couch and entertain myself with stupid pages on the internet (like 9gag) for hours. Sometimes I just fell asleep and when my boyfriend came home we made dinner and maybe watched some movie or series. In the beginning I was just too tired to get myself to do something, but after a while I felt a bit frustrated. I was wasting lots of precious hours I would never get back. So I decided to do something creative everyday. As I am interested in a lot of different things this 'something creative' isn't specified to just mean for example knitting. I included:
  • knitting
  • crotchet
  • painting
  • drawing
  • playing piano (or whatever instrument is around)
  • any kinds of DIY
Since then I've sewn quite a bit, knitted a cardigan, painted a lot and learned and improved quite some piano pieces I wanted to play.
